Update: just call fox with questions. Lots of conflicting information on the forums.
Do not go past 1.7 inches of threads fox says.
Also, do not use a spacer to achieve lift.
Once finally dialed in these are great. I ended up adjusting them to 1.7 inches threads showing on passenger side and 1.9 inches on driver side to account for the lean. This put me at 23 inches fender to center hub on both sides on 2017 Tacoma OR.
As for adjusting them, I tried both ways and found it’s much easier and worth while to use a spring compressor.
If the spring compressor doesn’t fit , find a different kind. There are indeed spring compressors that will fit and compress the spring for lock ring adjustments, with the coilovers in the truck. I found I only needed one spring compressor to relieve enough tension to spin the locking ring with ease.
