Well built and the slicer stands upright
I was looking for just this slicer. I wanted the top, slicing part to be able to stand up on it's own while I fiddle with the egg, turning it horizontal and vertical in the slicer. The others I tried that were well-built didn't offer that feature; the slicing part had to be held up with one hand or laid all the way back and over onto the counter every time I want to turn an egg.

Today 2 wires broke- it’s “busted” , there’s no way to repair it. We didn’t use daily. My husband used this to dice his eggs. He cut them one way, then the other way we did this for a dozen eggs about once a month. Today I put one egg in it and it broke, pop , 2 wires came out! Now it is junk! I paid $12 for this, that’s too much for only 11 months of use . OXO can do better!

I've had two of these, and both of them broke. But they broke when trying to slice strawberries with it instead of eggs. I've learned my lesson, this slicer is *not* strong enough to cut strawberries. If you stick to eggs, it's quite nice.

I love that this egg slicer is so substantial. I finally upgraded when I realized there were better products than the 30+ yr old flimsy metal slicer I had. It does a great job on eggs, but while researching, I ran across a couple that also slicer some vegetables. This one may also, however radishes aren't one of them (I KNOW, common sense was not working for me in that instant). Immediately, it disintegrated😔. So I have another new egg slicer, and will use it for its intended use only🙂. I do enjoy OXO products and recommend them.
