Product Description

Nanoskin Autoscrub quickly achieves professional results using advanced rubber polymer technology that replaces the use of traditional clay bars. When used by hand or a dual action orbital polisher, the Autoscrub safely and easily removes paint over spray, water spots, fresh tree sap, rail dust and other bonded surface contaminants from: automotive paint, glass, moldings and plastic. Unlike the clay bar, the AUTOSCRUB can be cleaned. This is done by simply rinsing off the accumulated contaminates with water. In the event you should drop the Autoscrub on the ground it can be cleaned. Simply rinse the sponge pad clean and you’rere ready to use it again. The Autoscrub glides easily and is sturdy in your hands for controlled handling unlike clay bars where constant reshaping is required.

From the manufacturer

Application Use:

  • For surface prep., use with NANOSKIN GLIDE Instant Spray Lubricant
  • To achieve best result on the paint, use with NANOSKIN NANO SHOCK Hydrophobic Spray Lubricant Sealant.
  • For glass prep. and hydrophilic anti-static sealant, use with RAIN PREP Glass Cleaner/Activator then follow with RAIN Glass Sealant.

NOTE:

Using with 6" soft-edge DA pad is highly recommended.

Sufficient lubrication is crucial to the AUTOSCRUB application.

Plain water is NOT an adequate lubricant.

DO NOT use with rotary polisher.

AUTOSCRUB is not solvent resistant.

Remove tar & grease before application

Helpful Tips:

The AUTOSCRUB has a protective coating to ensure stability within transportation.

To break in the pad, moisten the AUTOSCRUB with desired lubricant.

Moisten a portion of window glass or other glass surface. Rub AUTOSCRUB in circular motion against the glass for 30~60 seconds. You may see a white soapy foam; this is the protective sealant coming off.

Don't use until the polymerized rubber is soft and slightly tacky.

Cold temperatures may stiffen pad. Warm surface before using.

There is a significant difference between NANOSKIN AUTOSCRUB and clay bars. An outstanding machine/advanced polymer combination makes AUTOSCRUB the best contamination removal tool ever.

Lasts 25-30 Vehicles, Better Than Clay, Such A Time Saver!
As a detailer, this is perhaps the most time-saving item I have of all the equipment and products I use. I didn't know how long it lasted until I purchased Nanoskin (AS-019) AutoScrub Fine Grade Sponge for smaller sections that the pad couldn't reach (i.e. door handles, carrier racks, trim). There were a few differences between the old and new pad. I've included a few pics to show the small differences. There is a little bit of a tackier feel to the new pad even though I could probably still get 2-3 cars from the old pad. I always wondered how long the pad would last and I'd say I have done approx. 25-30 cars and trucks before pad "needed" to be replaced. I use Garry Dean's Infinite Use Detail juice since it's cheaper when diluted compared to most other lubricating products.I got tired of just putting wax on cars since they still felt rough even after they were detailed. Most people don't realize what a difference clay makes. The surface is so much smoother, which makes it easier to apply polish/wax/sealant. If you have a DA buffer I highly recommend this pad. I know some people say it leaves swirls, but I haven't noticed any. I don't think the medium grade pad is necessary for most vehicles. Use some sort of lubricant and DON'T apply it to hot paint or in direct sunlight! It will stick to the car and leave residue on the paint.

It's so unusual today that a product delivers on what it promises but this one does. Affix this to your orbital polisher and you can clay a large SUV in no time flat! The results are as good as I would get by hand, maybe better! Buy this and save yourself a ton of work!!!

I have been using clay since the late 90s, generally Mothers, though in the past few years i have also used Meguires to similar result. When it became available quite some time ago I used the pocket pad from Griots for clay and that worked quite well, but required immense amounts of lubricant, to the point where I made my own mix with other products to reduce cost.

Clay has always been the way to go to start ones cleaning process. Waxing, polishing, virtually any paint care should start with a good clay. Nano rubbers have been available for a couple of years now and after the recommendation from a friend in the business I decided to take the plunge. It has really been the best thing I have ever done in terms of prep.

When lubricated properly ( I use the blue lube at 7:1, I have yet to try nano shock, though I hear good things) and used at a low speed on a decent DA (I use the third gen Griots, but the PC, or Megs is fine too) the results are really quite surprising. Not only is this product VERY fast, it is exceptionally effective when used as intended.

It can be used by hand, which if you are unfamiliar with DAs or have never used clay would be recommended, with similar results. The real key here, what makes this so unique, is not just the efficacy, but the speed with which it performs the job. Traditionally, a hand clay on the average sedan, say a Volvo S60, Honda Accord, etc, would take 1-2 hrs depending on how well maintained the car was to begin with. This pad and a good DA will do the same car in 20 minutes, MAYBE 35 minutes tops.

So far i have only done my car and my moms Genesis sedan, so I cannot speak to longevity, but I can say hands down, this is the new clay. No argument. It simply is.

It's a little pricey but at some point one has to figure what your time is worth. To clay an entire car in a fraction of the time it normally takes it should pay for itself after a couple of uses. I had some nasty red paint splatter on the side of my black Range Rover and it did a great job removing the hundreds of little spots. Paint feels really clean to the touch afterwards.

I used it over and over in a few sections and it had very little sign of wear. I didn't notice any change in performance from new so I'm curious how long it will last. I'm just happy that I finally this horrible red paint off.

I was a bit skeptical in buying this at first, especially when this first came out, but I finally bought one for the PC DA polisher. You have an option of fine or medium grade to choose as well as the pads for the 4"cyclo, 6" da polisher, sponge type or a towel. The fine grade sells for about $45 on Amazon. I've seen a ton of write-up's from Detailers Domain on here, which makes trying this out a bit more comforting. I thought I'd share my impressions to those curious in trying this out.

First off, as with using clay, you need to wash the car. Note that I've only gotten a chance to try it on a single panel so far. I literally tried it out as soon as UPS delivered. I haven't had time lately, but I hope to detail the rest of the car this weekend. I used a Porter Cable 7424 DA polisher with an Adam's backing plate. I set the speed to 1 and used Adam's detail spray as a lubricant. Since it was a new pad, I broke the pad in on the glass per Detailers Domain recommendations. I sprayed the panel down with detail spray and got to work. About 4-5 passes with the machine. Wiped off the residue and wow!! I'm thoroughly impressed. The surface passes the plastic bag test perfectly. It really does work as advertised and I'm never going back to clay.

Truthfully, it is a bit expensive, but you can also try the sponge version for $12 if you're on the fence. You'll want the one for your DA polisher after trying it though. It will pay off in the long run compared to even the best clay bars out there...and you can rinse it off with water if it gets dirty.

Take note that I did see noticeable hazing/marring when using this thing... but I'd say not any more than what would happen with a clay bar. My car being black and Nissan's crappy paint, even the slightest swirls are noticeable in direct sunlight. A quick pass with a Adam's white pad and fine machine polish and the haze/marring caused by the nanoskin autoscub are gone. I believe the marring can also be reduced with less passes as it seems 1-3 light passes with the autoscub is enough to get the job done.

Overall, this is a huge time saver and I can't wait to finish the rest of the car. A single panel took less the a minutes to complete and this is definitely worth the price. You can probably "clay" the entire car in less than 20 minutes with this thing.

They also recommend using Nanoskin's "Glide" with the autoscub, but I already had a gallon of detail spray in the garage. It might be more economical to buy "Glide" though, since it's a concentrate and a lot cheaper than Adam's detail spray.

I don't actually like using this with my DA polisher. It flings liquid around, and I don't want to risk damaging the paint with debris that gets stuck in it. I don't find it saves a significant amount of time versus doing it by hand anyways. I like the shape and size of these though, I find even by hand I like them better than the sponges.
