I have a 2009 4 cylinder, 4wd manual transmission Tacoma access cab. The harness worked perfectly for me. The instructions could have been clearer but were workable. I was not sure if the 4 cylinder version had the wiring stubs but it did. All the parts are included, including a relay and fuses (these go in the fuse box in the engine compartment - that took me a little bit of time to work out). The harness comes up into the cab through an existing hole in the floor near the driver's side seat. You pop out a plug and the harness comes with its own plug. The harness is then threaded through a wiring trough that is under a plastic cover along the floor near the door. There are two connectors, one is a 4 pin and contains the wires for the lights, the other plugs into the box provided with the harness. This screws into the wall of the truck on the wheel side of the car. There is a threaded hole there, it is behind the fuse box (you'll have to remove the screws holding the fuse box to gain access. You have to orient the box with the connector facing downward. There is a pin on the connector that fits into the wall of the truck to help with the orientation. After installing, I had brake, tail and signals for the trailer without any other wire connections. To get to the connectors you have to remove the cover on lower left just above the floor. It also helps to remove the lower part of the dashboard (two screws and then it pops out).
I eventually installed a brake controller. For this truck, I could not find any existing wiring so had to run my own wires from the hitch. You can tap into the brake light line (to get brake signal voltage to the controller) in the trailer hitch harness. I found this easier than tapping into the brake light wire at the brake.
