I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of oem led headlights and I was just wondering with the resent snow storm up in the northeast, did anyone have a bad experience with them. I'm running the H9 setup which worked pretty good, looking for real world experience with them, TIA.

It's not a huge issue, and snow storms that stick on the headlights aren't too common anywhere south of alaska.

The problem with LED headlights during snow storms is the "star wars" effect. Where the light is reflected back at the driver. But it's 100% worth it for the 99.8% rest of driving. Plus the OEM led's have properly directed lighting.

Happens all the time where I live in Montana. Wet and heavy snow. And yes, it sticks to the front end (headlights). Same with the front sensor in the grille. In those conditions, I make it a habit to stop and check lights occasionally. Clean the tail lights off, clean the headlights off, get some of the excess snow out of the wheel wells, etc etc...

Here's a pic of the LED headlights after a heavy snowstorm a month ago.
Snow definitely sticks on, but that's under heavy snowfall circumstances.

Can't speak for Tacoma LED headlights, but I have the LED's on our 2021 Rav4 and ice buildup can be problematic in the right conditions. I'd still take LED over halogen though, the pros outweigh the cons for me.

Love my OEM LEDs, SOOOO worth it. If you are worried about the snow refection then just buy some amber fog lights.

Did you have a factory install or did you get them later, also are you running amber fogs? Amber light bar?

Love my OEM LED's. Great cutoff and good light amount. Doesn't blind oncoming drivers when aimed correctly

I keep a screwdriver in the truck to aim them down when towing a trailer to not blind oncoming traffic.

Factory installed. It was one of my must have items when I was looking for my truck. I do not have amber fogs now but have seen/read a lot and they do very well in snow.

Must be the other south of Alaska Maybe the snow didn’t get the memo. You should let it know it’s not supposed to stick there. …….

When I built my rig I couldn't get it to configure with the tech and premium package for reasons I don't understand til this day, that is my only regret I have.

Ceramic coat the lights and never have to worry about snow sticking to them.

I have had any problems with the factory OEM LED headlights. At least where I drive in Iowa, the snow has not been a problem. Now freezing rain may be a problem.
