Currently doing the ECGS bushing install on my truck. I have the CV axle out and I see this. What appears to be two needle bearings in the front differential housing. Is this setup supposed to look like this?

According to east coast tech video, it looks like just the outer bearing comes out, not the inner, but verify that..there should b a gap between the two in order to get the removal tool in..

Ahh yes. It makes sense now. So the splines on the axle rotate within the bearing further inside the housing if I'm not mistaken.

The inner is not a needle bearing, it's the spline the CV shaft fits into

Thank you. It threw me off seeing it at first as this is my very first axle type work I have done

Did they make much difference each time in trucks you've installed them in?

Like a switch turning off the vibration. My truck developed the vibration about 5K after i put my lift on. Could feel it in the gas pedal and seat, went totally away when placed into 4x4. My 3 other buddies that I did the installs for said the same thing, they didn't realize how much their trucks were vibrating till the bushing was installed. Well worth the effort.

Highly recommended doing the bushing swap if you've been debating it. It was like flipping a switch with the vibration going away. I actually enjoy my truck again.

did you have any scarring on the cv shaft if so does it affect the new bearing if you use the same cv or do you advise buying a new cv shaft.
