I have a 1996 tacoma that I bought with 265/75/16 duratracs and 16x9 dick cepek wheels. I'm not really a fan of the wheels and wanted the stock look and stock offset so I bought a set of steel wheels off a 2013. I had my tires mounted on the new steel wheels and they hit the a arm way before they would bolt tight. I could run wheel spacers but I'd rather not. I want to keep the tire in the fender the best I can. Can anyone help with what the difference is between the older and newer stock wheels or tell me what backspace I need to look for. Thanks in advance

A 4.5" BS wheel is about as much as you can go before youre hitting your uca. With wider than stock tires a wheel with around 4 to 4.25" BS would be good.

I just measured the steel wheels and they are close to 5.5 backspacing. No wonder they didn't work
