Saw on anither post many of us are nurses!

As my username implies, I'm a Nurse! Been a Nurse for a little more than a year. Currently working in the largest USAF Hospital as a Post Surgical/Telemetry/Cardiac Rule Out/Vascular RN.
Basically if you have a knife taken to any part of you, have CP, CHF, other cardiac anomaly or a cathab/ Vascular procedure you see me lol.

Looking to go either ED/Trauma or ICU with goals of maybe Family Nurse Practitioner to be in the ED or an Acute Care NP ICU/Trauma

    Your turn!

Need that ICU/ED for FNP duty!

I think if I were to get a redo, I'd persue a similar career path.

Yea definitely! The usaf limits it even more, if I want to go ACNP I'd have to go ICU first to even apply.

ICU and ED require a year long fellowship that is 6 mo didactic and 6 mo clinical at a lvl 1 trauma center.

    Very cool!

We're theargest workforce in America so I figured they had to be some taco driving nurses!

ER nurse in a level 2 trauma center for about a year and a half. I was an EMT in the ER prior to that and i will have been at the hospital for 10 years this summer. @rileySB Works at the same place and the tacoma is basically the department vehicle. I think we counted about 7 ER employees that are taco owners! No plans of going back to school for NP or heading anywhere else...for now.

Currently a nursing student at Clemson. Hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Not sure what I want to do after graduation, let alone any advanced practice routes. Really interested in PICU as of now, though. I got my peds class coming up this summer so we'll see how I like it!!

Hoops, keep jumping through the hoops! just remember all you need to do is pass nursing school to allow you to take the NCLEX, the MINIMUM you need to know to be a nurse...

    Good luck!

Maybe it's just me, but I would want my nurse to set his/her sites a bit higher than "the MINIMUM you need to know to be a nurse.." Maybe I am just reading this wrong.

The NCLEX is probably the single hardest "associates degree" test anyone will ever take in their life. I know, I took it 3 times before I passed.
